All vehicles are permitted to access Mt Hutt and is not limited to 4WD vehicles only. However, depending on your vehicle, you may need to fit snow chains, and there can be restrictions on high-sided vehicles such as campervans during inclement weather. Note that 4WD vehicles may be required to fit chains anytime during the season.
If you’re travelling in a rental vehicle, we recommend checking with your rental company before your visit, as driving on alpine roads or using snow chains is not always covered.

You don’t need to ski or snowboard to enjoy Mt Hutt. With a Summit Six Sightseeing Pass, you can ride the chairlift, take in the views, explore the summit, and enjoy snow experiences without hitting the slopes.
Yes. Mt Hutt has extensive snowmaking coverage across key beginner and main runs. This helps maintain consistent ski and snowboard conditions throughout the season.

Changing Lesson Reservations: Lessons are subject to availability and must be rescheduled no later than 24 hours before your lesson start time.
All of your products will be loaded to your MyPass Card. This is essentially your ticket to the mountain, to access the lifts at Coronet Peak, The Remarkables or Mt Hutt you will need a MyPass Card assigned to your profile with your products loaded onto it.

We’re about a 90-minute drive from Christchurch Airport and only 35 minutes from Methven – easy as. Remember to check the Snow Report before you head up to make sure the weather's playing ball. If you're not too keen on driving, the Ski Bus from Methven’s your go-to. Just book ahead through Methven Travel and give yourself a bit of extra time if you’ve got rentals or lessons sorted.
If you're planning on making the drive straight from Christchurch, in partnership with Snowman Shuttles, we are continuing a subsidised shuttle service from Christchurch and Rolleston. So, all winter you’ll be able to enjoy stress-free travel that will see you on the snow for 9am.
Mt Hutt is around 1 hour 30 minutes’ drive from Christchurch International Airport and approximately 35 minutes from Methven. The access road is unsealed. Please check our Snow Report before heading up for the latest mountain, road and weather conditions.

First time up the hill? Travelling light? Our on-mountain Rental Centre has you sorted with skis, snowboards, boots, helmets and waterproof outerwear. Easy as, and no need to lug gear from home.
Kai & Coffee
Ōpuke Kai Café is your go-to for hot meals, kids’ snacks, sweet treats and barista-made coffee with one heck of a view. We’ve got friendly staff and food options for even the pickiest eaters.
Lessons
Whether it's their first slide or they’re ready to level up, our ski and snowboard lessons are run by qualified instructors who know how to keep it fun and confidence-building for both kids and adults.
Getting Around
We’ve made getting around easy. From our fast lifts to our free car park shuttles running all day between lower lots. No need to carry all the gear uphill.

We’ve got free Wi-Fi at base, water refill stations, and a team of legends on hand to help you out. Got a question? Just ask, we’re all about making your day epic.
Swap a Ski Day for Other Adventures - If you want a break from the slopes, exchange an unused ski day for dining, rentals, or activities like KJet rides. Just present your MyPass Card at a participating business, and your credit will be applied.
How long is my Superpass valid for?
A Superpass is valid for the NZSki (Coronet Peak, The Remarkables, Mt Hutt) operational season the year in which the pass was purchased for. Please note that different ski resorts may have different dates for their winter season. Please check their websites in advance.
How to Redeem Your Superpass?
It’s easy! Just use the unique code on the back of your MyPass card. Take your MyPass card straight to any Superpass mountain orpartner to redeem your credit or pass. That’s it - no hassle, just more ways to enjoy your ski trip.

Where can I collect my MyPass card from?
Before you ski at Coronet Peak, The Remarkables or Mt Hutt,you will need to collect your MyPass card. This is your ticket to these mountains.
What if I lose my MyPass card?
If you lose or misplace your MyPass card or it is stolen, please report this immediately to NZSki Guest Services by emailing [email protected] so they can suspend/cancel it and re-issue a replacement. A card replacement fee of $10 may apply.
Can someone else redeem my Superpass?
No. Superpasses are non-transferable. The named pass holder must be present to receive the credit towards the partners product, service oractivity. Parents/Guardians can redeem passes on behalf of children.
What else do I need to know?
Only 1 Superpass can be redeemed per transaction. Superpass credit can only be used in a single transaction. For example, if you spend $10 of your credit, the remaining balance will no longer be available. Each fullday of skiing = 1 Superpass.
Mt Hutt Season Pass & 3 Peak Pass products generally have no blackout dates, meaning you can ski or ride whenever the mountain is open. Some international pass combinations, such as Ikon Pass & Ikon Base Pass products, may include blackout dates at certain destinations.
The Mt Hutt Season Pass gives you unlimited skiing and riding at Mt Hutt for the full winter season — perfect if Hutt is your regular mountain.
The 3 Peak Season Pass takes things a step further, giving you unlimited access to Mt Hutt, Coronet Peak and The Remarkables. That means more terrain, more variety and the freedom to explore three of New Zealand’s best ski areas throughout the season.
